Privacy Policy
Effective 12 September 2026 · Version 1.0
Who we are
MatterScope (“the app”) is developed and published by Christopher Lewis Cox (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through the contact form on our website. This policy explains how the app handles information — which, in practice, is by not collecting any.
Information we collect
None. MatterScope does not collect, transmit, store on our servers, sell or share any personal data. Specifically:
- No account or sign-up is required or offered.
- No analytics, telemetry or usage statistics are gathered.
- No advertising, ad networks or advertising identifiers (IDFA) are used.
- No third-party trackers, SDKs or social logins are embedded.
- No cookies (the app is not a web app).
Data stored on your device
A few small preferences are stored locally on your device only, so the app can remember your choices between launches:
- Items you bookmark in Saved.
- Whether you have seen the first-run welcome screens.
This information never leaves your device, is not accessible to us, and is removed if you delete the app.
Device permissions
MatterScope requests no special permissions. It does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, health data, calendars or files.
Network use
The app is designed to run fully offline and functions in Airplane Mode. It does not require an internet connection to work, and it does not send your activity anywhere.
Children
MatterScope is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects no personal information from children.
Your rights
Data-protection laws such as the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR give you rights over your personal data. Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. Any locally stored preferences are under your control on your own device.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above before the change ships. Material changes will be reflected in a new app version’s release notes.
